Dr.P.G.C.S.Bowatte, the acting vice chancellor of Wayamba University of Sri Lanka and Mr.Chamendra Somatunga, Managing Director of Fadna were present at the event together with the university staff and representatives of Fadna.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr.Chamendra Somatunga stated that, “the constant efforts made by Fadna to develop the market in partnership with local universities are a timely and an effective step. Plans are underway to implement a number of such projects in collaboration with various state universities in Sri Lanka, which will make a significant contribution to the economy. Both parties wishes to encourage direct contact between their institutions and research centres, subject to the terms of this MoU. Initiatives will be carried out in the near future to develop collaborations in the areas of teaching and research, while implementing programs, exchanging research information in areas of mutual interest, engaging in joint research activities and sharing library and laboratory facilities offering greater avenues for both parties.
